I have
had the opportunity to see first hand the custom work that Jim performs on
handguns. I have had the opportunity to fire several of his custom 1911’s
and CZ model handguns and was extremely impressed with his attention to
detail, as well as his ability to produce something that functions as good
as it looks. During my career I have interacted with all types of
individuals in the firearms industry as well as self proclaimed “experts.”
Jim is the real deal and I can recommend him without hesitation. He has and
will continue to perform all service work on our issued department weapons
as well as every weapon that I own personally. Sir your work and expertise
is top notch.

Dear Jim:
I received my CZ75B back yesterday and while I haven’t had the opportunity
to test-fire the pistol I did manage to get in some dry practice drills. I
can’t believe how smooth the trigger pull is! Very smooth, a crisp break
(take up so slight I don’t even notice it) and the contour of the trigger is
perfect!
My favorite pistol was my Sig P226 that has been back to Exeter for some
‘factory magic’, but based on the little bit of trigger practice I did I
think that’s about to change. You truly are a master CZ smith!
I want to send my gratitude and thanks for your excellent work. NOW I know
why the wait is so long! And your work is most definitely worth waiting for!
Thanks again,
Mark Fortie
My SA just came back today from Jim Miossi. I got the trigger job works - Angus hammer & trigger, Miossi Gun Works Custom Hard Sear, Wolf 19# main spring & extractor spring plus fitting, stoning & polishing of all action works. Folks, I've gotta tell you - the results are fantastic. The gun is smooth as butter, with a 2-1/2 lb trigger (avg. of 10 meas. on my Lyman digital trigger scale) with minimal travel and absolutely zero creep. Fantastic job! And everything was on time, with first-rate communications. I couldn't be more pleased.

Got my
CZ40B back from Miossi Gun Works yesterday. Took it to range and must say
that I am very pleased. The pistol shoots very well. The trigger is very
crisp. We set the trigger pull at just under 3 lbs. The money spent getting
the action worked on by Jim is money well spent. Jim is very pleasant to
work with and keeps you updated on the progress.
Jim, appreciate the
fine work.

Recently, I had occasion to ship my new CZ 75B to Miossi Gun Works (MGW) for
an action job.
Miossi Gun Works had been recommended by members of the CZ Forum web-site.
Based on that information, and e-mails between Jim Miossi and myself, I
selected MGW for my CZ gunsmithing project. I’m glad I did.
Discussing the project with Jim, I discovered that his new “hard” sear would
be ready for testing, soon. In the meantime we ordered a new “Angus” hammer,
as well. After the parts arrived Jim installed the sear and hammer as part
of his standard “action package”.
During the entire process Jim kept me informed via e-mail and phone. For any
better communication I’d have had to been looking over his shoulder. Due to
the excellent communication we were able to make some last minute
changes/decisions that greatly enhanced the finished pistol. Upon return, I
tested the pistol extensively. There were no FTF’s or FTE’s, using a variety
of ammunition. DA trigger pull reminded me of one of my custom revolvers.
Smooth throughout its travel. SA trigger pull was a crisp 3 ½ pounds with
only a small amount of creep. This due to the geometry of the hammer/sear.
Due to my positive experience Jim Miossi and MGW have earned my trust and
confidence. I recommend Miossi Gun Works, for your gunsmithing needs,
without reservation.

Dear Jim,
Over the weekend, I was able to put 400 rounds (three ammo types) through my
newly returned CZ85C. I let a few colleagues use the pistol as well for
their comments and critiques.
First, your action job and new MGW sear give a fantastic trigger that is
easily controlled. Prior to sending my gun to you, the SA trigger pull on
this gun was close to 7 lbs and the DA trigger was in excess of 12 lbs. SA
and DA pulls now are 3.4 and 8.3 lbs, respectively, exactly what I
requested. Your internal polishing was finely done and the action seemed
perfectly smooth. I encountered no FTF or FTE, indeed, no failures of any
sort; the gun ran perfectly.
For me the major benefit of your new sear and action work has been to make
the DA-to-SA transition far easier. At least one tangible benefit of this
improvement was that I lost much less money than usual at our club's
Saturday plate shoot. Of course, the lightened and smooth trigger also
helped me achieve noticeably better precision in shot placement.
Friends who shot the gun were uniformly impressed by your work and by the
(amazing) fact that all work was completed just when you said it would be.
You may not the only pistolsmith who completes jobs bang on time, but your
timeliness does place you in a mighty small group! Thank you, Jim. I will
certainly send additional pistols to you as your schedule permits, as I look
forward to little MGW magic on my Springer 1911-A1 and S&W J frame.
With best regards,

I found out about Miossi Gun Works browsing through the CZ Forum. After communicating with Jim through e-mail I sent my CZ-75B for some work. I had it converted to single action with a Angus trigger and a MGW custom hard sear. The trigger pull was tuned to about 3.5 lb. Jim was great at answering all my questions and communicated with me throughout the whole process. The turnaround time was exactly what it was suppose to be. My CZ-75 now has a very crisp single action trigger pull, I just love it. My rapid firing is much more accurate after the conversion. I would without any hesitation recommend Miossi Gun Works.
I sent Jim my CZ75 SA 9mm for an action job. It was a very accurate gun but the trigger was horrid, and it had the occasional ftf. It was definitely worth every penny. The trigger is very smooth and crisp, and the feeding issues are gone. I opted for the custom hard sear. While I don't have a sample of his work without the sear to compare it to I know it was well worth it. I say this because I know with it this slick as snot trigger will not change.
Anyways thanks again for making my CZ such a nice shooter Jim, and for taking the time to answer all of my questions. I will definitely be a repeat customer.
Regards
Joey Seale
I bought a CZ-75B SA 9mm earlier this year. Although the pistol was okay out of the box I felt it could be a lot better with some upgrading. After reading about Miossi Gun Works on CZ Forum I decided to send my pistol off to Jim Miossi to get upgraded. I got a 2.75# action job with Miossi custom hard sear, Angus trigger, and Angus hammer. I also got the magwell beveled and Meprolight night sights installed. This pistol is now GREAT! I can now reload faster and make tough shots I struggled with before. The pistol has been 100% reliable with all ammo used. Also the pistol arrived back to me in a timely fashion and the communication was great.

Jim Miossi at Miossi Gun Works is one of only a few well-qualified gunsmiths offering custom work on the CZ75 series of pistols. A custom sear made of really hard steel is also offered, and is unique. The Action Job package involves expert stoning and polishing of the action as well as the barrel feedramp, and some springs replacement. Jim is meticulous in his work, and the DA/SA pull that results is very smooth and crisp to the extreme.
Communication with Jim is extraordinary; he called me on his own nickel to discuss some details of the work and e-mailed several times to update on the progress. The Action Job is well worth the money.
Overall, I am a very satisfied customer and would recommend MGW Action Job, including custom sear, to every pistol owner.

CZ firearms enthusiast
I recently received back
from Jim Miossi of Miossi Gun Works, LLC two polycoat CZ-75b’s that
I purchased earlier this year. One is 9 mm, the other is a .40 S&W.
Both pistols received a full action job with the Miossi hard sear, a fiber
optic front sight, a reshaped trigger shoe, an extra power extractor spring
and a heavier recoil spring.
Last night I shot both pistols. What were already fine pistols are now
outstanding due to the work Jim performed. I was able to shoot accurately
much more quickly due to my bifocal wearing eyes being able to pick up the
front sight quicker and due to the extremely smooth and clean breaking
trigger. I did not experience a single
FTF or
FTE in shooting more than 200 assorted rounds (LSWC, JHP, FMJ).
While waiting on the two pistols, I rationalized buying a third CZ-75b – a
satin nickel .40 S&W. After the first range session and many
FTE’s, I installed an
extra power extractor spring. I also installed a 16 lbs mainspring and an 18
lbs recoil spring. The extra power extraction spring solved the FTE’s; the
16 lbs mainspring stopped the spring stacking in DA fire and the 18lbs
recoil spring kept my brass within 10 feet of my firing point as well as
smoothing out the recoil impulse. This trigger is much smoother than were
the two polycoat 75b’s when they were sent to Jim Miossi. Accuracy was very
good to outstanding.
There’s no comparison between the satin nickel .40 and the two pistols done
by Jim Miossi. It’s obvious to me that Jim has done his homework in
identifying all friction points in the action and how to eliminate that
friction.
Jim’s work on my CZ’s was first class. The price for work performed was more
than fair. Jim's turnaround time was remarkable and just as promised. I’m
pleased enough to have scheduled the satin nickel 75b for the same
treatment.

A Gunsmithing Job Well Done
I had requested two things from Miossi Gun Works when I ordered gunsmithing
work on my older model CZ75: a new partridge front sight, and their described
complete action job. The beauty of both was immediately obvious when I
received my gun back. The front sight which was installed in a dovetailed
cut was exactly what I had envisioned, and the sight picture is orders of
magnitude better than the original one. To me, that was the greatest
weakness of the gun and it was solved superbly. Secondly, the single action
trigger pull, that Jim had set at 2 lb. 14 oz., is one sweet trigger. Again,
it was exactly what I wanted for bullseye target work. The double action
pull was significant reduced and much smoother than original. The final let
off does not go through as much stacking as I had experienced before. All my
high cap magazines drop freely, and the overall feel of the gun is smoother
when racking the slide and pulling the trigger. Testing it at the range
confirmed everything that the dry firing tests indicated. There was 100%
functionality with all the ammo that I tried, and double taps with that
trigger were a joy to shoot. I’m very happy and look forward to many years
of use with this gun in my different bullseye and Practical matches.
